Christina received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and uses her experience as both a mental health therapist, and massage therapist to inform her work about holistic care. Prior to this, Christina received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Christina is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.
Deep Tissue Approach
Christina’s approach to deep tissue work involves slowly warming up the tense area with light or medium pressure, followed by sustained deep strokes on areas of focus. Christina emphasizes that pain in a deep tissue massage is not necessary to achieve desired results, and will emphasize the importance of relaxation and open communication between therapist and client. Christina utilizes myofascial and trigger point techniques, while understanding that there is no “one size fits all” approach to healing.
Services Provided by Christina: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone Massage, Couples Massage, Mini-Treatments.
