Lauren Tysinger, NCLMBT #14751 has worn many hats, from circus performer to taiji instructor. Graduating Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Eastern Arts, her passion for wellness led her to massage school at Body Therapy Institute in Siler City, North Carolina. Learning the huge impact touch has on the body, she was inspired to reach out to those in the community that were not able to receive what is still considered a “luxury” healthcare modality. Lauren has worked with women in battered shelters and clients that suffer from severe PTSD. As her drive for this delicate work grew, she found herself diving deep and deeper into the bodywork subset of sound therapy, specifically using tools such as the tuning forks which allow her to create soundscapes and vibrations in nearly any setting.This fall Lauren embarks on yoga teacher training under Ti Harmony at the Loving Kindness yoga school and hopes to integrate this knowledge within her growing bodywork practice.
Lauren’s Deep Tissue Technique ::
I like to first assess in detail what is going on in the body, both from the client’s experience and from a visual assessment before the client gets on the table. After coming up with an appropriate treatment plan for which muscles we both agree are in need of the most help, I will begin by warming up the body, feeling for any further information in the cause of discomfort. I will work with the muscle and the fascia by lengthening, spreading, and separating the tissue, retraining it release and reset in a more balanced way for all of the body.
