About Dry Needling

Dry needling begins with the insertion of acupuncture needles into muscles, tendons, ligaments, or other soft tissues in order to treat pain or movement problems. This is a method of trigger point therapy and intramuscular stimulation.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Does it hurt? Most often, the answer is “no”, and if any discomfort is experienced, the needles will be adjusted or removed, if needed.

  2. What can I expect during my appointment? Each session is scheduled for 30 minutes which includes time discussing your condition and a minimum of 15 minutes of lying comfortably with the needles in place.

  3. How many sessions do I need to feel relief? While each person is unique in their healing process, you can expect to feel relief after 4-6 sessions, but results can be felt as early as after the first session. Relief can take longer than 6 sessions depending on the severity of symptoms.

Dry needling can be used as a stand alone therapy or paired with massage for additional relief. It can improve muscle pain and injuries, trigger points, spasms, stiffness, mobility problems, headaches, fibromyalgia, and nerve pain.

Sessions are 30 minutes for $75
