
About Dry Needling/Muscle Jumping
Dry needling is the Western term for the Chinese acupuncture treatment muscle jumping. These two, muscle jumping and dry needling are one in the same. This service begins with the insertion of acupuncture needles into muscles, tendons, ligaments, or other soft tissues to treat pain or movement problems. This is a method of trigger point therapy and intramuscular stimulation.

Does it hurt? Most often, the answer is “no”, and if any discomfort is experienced, the needles will be adjusted or removed, if needed.
What can I expect during my appointment? Each session allows time to discuss the reason for treatment and a treatment plan. This time also allows for time to lay down comfortably with the needles i place.
How many sessions do I need to feel relief? While each person is unique in their healing process, you can expect to feel relief after 4-6 sessions, but results can be felt as early as after the first session. Relief can take longer than 6 sessions depending on the severity of symptoms. This question is best answered by your practitioner at the time of your appointment.
Dry needling can be used as a stand alone therapy or paired with massage for additional relief. It can improve muscle pain and injuries, trigger points, spasms, stiffness, mobility problems, headaches, fibromyalgia, and nerve pain. It is used frequently for areas such as the low back, shoulder, quadriceps, calves, forearms and other areas muscular areas.
Initial sessions are 45 minutes for $75
Follow up sessions are 20-30 minutes for $75
